Meh, try one for size. If Clark Gable can rock a 34mm on his slabs of beefy wrists you certainly can wear a 36mm. The important thing is you like it and it feels comfortable to wear.
At first I was disappointed, but the more I see it the more I really appreciate the look. It's interesting they went with the NH35 movement and not a miyota, which is thinner and high beat. But great that it's not too thick.
