Kickstarter: Not all projects are the same

Purchasing watches from Kickstarter is like investing in volatile stock. Sometimes, you can experience an amazing watch at a fraction of the true price (Wicked Pearl Diver โ€“ STP) or you invest in a lemon (Zeitgeist H1). Obviously, I have done both. If you are a beginner watch collector, avoid this option until you have a better understanding of the watch industry and understand what makes a great watch to you. The potential savings to an uninformed collector is minimal plus most microbrands have poor re-sale values so there is not much to gain. If you do participate in a Kickstarter campaign, look for projects with owners that have had previous success on Kickstarter. Otherwise, you may invest your funds with a con artist with no recourse from Kickstarter. Just my thoughts.ย

Good day everyone!ย ย ย  ย

I kind of lost interest in this Nixie tube watch that was supposed to show up last September. The updates about bank confiscation of funds and Ukrainian warfare were interesting though.

Yeah, it looks pretty sweet. Its the BMOP dial. I thought it appropriate given the watch's name.ย

That was unfortunate timing for sure. Thanks for sharing.
