Watch cases and collecting

Would like to hear everyone’s opinion on whether having a proper (definitions will vary) watch case helps with watch collecting. Does it help mentally, emotionally..or does it help at all?

I wanted to check out a well known buy and sell shop north of where my office was back in the 90s, it was early after being buzzed into the store, I explained that I was killing an hour before a meeting wanted to look in the well known shop. Shop owner was friendly knowledgeable, asked to see my AP perpetual, said that he would buy if I wanted to ever sell my new watch. Just to display his sincerity he walks into his back office to bring out a large leather briefcase that I recognized as an upmarket Italian make. He pulls out some vintage watches that I have seen listed only in auction catalogues, have never handled physically since. He boasts that the contents are valued at over 5 million usd anywhere where watches are bought and sold. It was both a humbling and enlightening experience. A year after that I was able to purchase a similar leather satchel in the shopping concourse connected to the Peninsula Hotel in Kowloon to carry my sandwiches to work. Haha. We all need a carry case, not everyone transports the same contents. 😉

Nope, you fill one up then have to buy another...then another...and then add a cabinet to hold all the watch boxes...then a safe to keep your really valuable watches in...then.... 😂

I got a proper hard plastic case with foam slots. Works great, keeps my son away from them

Cool case! I can imagine the watches being smashed when you slam the lid shut, but there should be foam in between the watches, right?

Thats right theres a removable foam insert to prevent both halves from contacting each other
