I found Hodinkee by accident and went a bit mental.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
The first watch I ever owned was some kind of digital watch that you had to push the button to light it up. I don't remember the brand, but my father picked it up for me in Hong Kong. Mine had green numbers while everyone else had red. I wish I still had it!
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I have several with great stories behind them. My two favourites are my two first "serious" watches: a Fears Brunswick and a Vertex M100. Both resulted in me meeting with the owners of said brands and becoming friends with them. I see them in London whenever I visit (a couple times a year). It was a great way to get started into this hobby.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Slow down and take your time. Is that two pieces of advice?
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Christopher Ward (the Bel Canto) and I am thinking a lot about a JLC Reverso Duo. Also Grand Seiko. If I had the money, I'd be looking at every single A. Lange & Sohne on earth.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
It's a Bamford Rolex Datejust Yellow Submarine edition in black.
