It’s been an exciting few years for the 9SA5.
I have to admit bias where bias exists - I think it’s one of the best movements for the price today. While the accuracy lags behind something like Rolex’s brand standard of +2/-2 per day, the GS wins in almost every other category (jewel count, hand finishing, escapement tech, double barrel, power reserve, beat rate).
So far as I can tell, GS has almost exclusively used this movement in the Evolution 9 and 44GS cases thus far. Are there any predictions for the 9SA5 being used in other GS cases? I would personally love to see it in a 62 GS or modified to remove the date complication and used in some dressier pieces like the SBGW series. Curious what everyone else would like to see!

Agreed, I have the SLGH005 as well and love it. the 9SA5 should be the way forward. I would have liked to see this added to the new 38mm ones that just came out (pink and green). But they have the 9S85 instead. Not sure why.

I picked up the 005 yesterday. I love it.
I hear you on the new ones. I feel like they don’t want to bring the 9SA5 down into the price range where they are marketing those new watches (~$8k, which I think is steep for those). Feels like they want to keep those movements in watches that are going to fetch prices in the range of $9.5-$10k, which is probably an impediment to some of my wish list items above.
stunner of a den as well!

Wish I could say it was my own!
This is one of the ones I was trying to describe. 44mm but it’s essentially a hooded lug design so that’s almost the whole lug width.

I was mistaken - 9SA5 has already made it into the 62GS: https://www.europeanwatch.com/watch/Grand-Seiko-SBGH295-Grand-Seiko-Hi-Beat-36000-50970.html
