AliExpress deliveries

I first bought off AliExpress when they had their March sale. I’d read a quite a few scare stories from unhappy customers when researching whether to buy off there or not - even with a lot of happy customers I was a little wary of spending my well earned cash on importing from China. In the end I bought 2 watches and was very impressed by the speed of their delivery, which was just over 2 weeks.

I placed another watch order at 0830 on 25th April which arrived at my door at 1100 today, 4th May. Calculating the time in working days, and we had a bank holiday too in the UK (which I know doesn’t affect China but using it as a homeland comparison), that’s 6 days from order to delivery! I don’t think anyone can argue that’s not impressive. A lot of UK retailers would struggle to meet that standard let alone someone shipping from the other side of the world. Credit where credit is due, a big shout out to AliExpress 👏🏻👊🏻👏🏻👊🏻

Straps are a little different mind, they do take longer to arrive but it’s the watches I’m usually more keen to receive 😉

That's good to hear. I've never used AE yet but I can see it in my future.

Which watches did you go for?

Its worth the risk - I was prepared to lose out just for the experience but the more I looked into buying from there, the more confident I was there would be no problem. Maybe a longer wait for delivery was expected hence the big surprise at the fantastic speed in which the watches arrived.
I‘ve posted on the watches I have had off there, but may not have referred to AE. I’ve had a Lacz Denton chrono, Pagani Paul Newman Daytona and just had a Steeldive Tuna land. All have got a very slight quality issue but nothing worth worrying about, certainly at their price point. I’ve also got a Keaorius and Guanqin, but they came from elsewhere albeit originally from AE.
I don’t think I’d spend a much larger amount on AE that these were. San Martin, for example, get very good reviews, but the sort of price that some of their watches are I think I’d rather buy a well known, and easily accessible, brand even though the specs might not appear as good on paper.

My suggestion, wait for a sale, find a low value watch you like the look of, and give it a go. Be prepared to write the cash off if it doesn’t arrive, or isn’t to the quality levels it should be, although AE do have a dispute procedure if you do get problems, but I’m not sure how well this works. However, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised……and hooked.

Sorry, a bit long but hope this helps.

That's really helpful, thank you.

I've been watching YouTube videos on the various AE brands and where they position themselves in terms of the quality/price equation. I've come to the conclusion that Cronos will probably give me the level I'm looking for, but as you say, I'm not going to pay the money they are asking for outside of a sale. I really fancy their pepsi GMT, but will wait till later in the year and see if I can get it for sub £200. 👍
