Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

When I was 18 years (1978) old my Mum bought me my first automatic watch a Seiko. I was in the Army at the time and thought I would leave at home I didn't want to ruin it. Sadly my Eldest had other ideas he was a welder and wore to to work. So I left watches alone until 2009. I was admiring a Tag and bought it. Years later as in 2021 I saw a Hamilton and wore it as much as my Tag. So it began.

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

Seiko can't remember it.

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

I suppose my Raymond Weil I bought it as used watch from our local Jeweller loved the look of it. But once I got it home strapped it on my wrist it just kept bad time and stopped . The Jeweller had to send it of for repair and service at his own expense. He did offer to refund me but something inside said hang on to it. Many Months passed by until it came back in perfect working order. Now when I wear it I'm glad I didn't give up on it. I love the Raymond Weil company and their total independence.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Buy and wear what you actually like and feel proud to own it doesn't matter how cheap or expensive it is. I own watches that range from £30.00 to £7,000.00.

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Bremont and Christopher Ward

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

It was my IWC. It is perfect in every way. I may sound sad but I don't care for Rolex, Omega or Breitling.
