Sam's Watch Review (Casio G-Shock DW6900-CB1)

How I Got It

I got this watch while I was studying in Uni. At the time, it's either you wear Apple Watch or G-Shocks. I'm not really into the Apple Watches yet that time so I have to opted for the G-Shocks. It is simply the best watch to use as a student since we have to stay active #studentlife. But back then I was wearing another G-Shock model DW9052 and it was great. But seeing a lot of people wearing the DW6900 I just wanted to be a part of it as well 😂. Luckily I have a very good friend that is in my circle and he has his own business of selling bands and bezels simply so anyone can customise their own G-Shocks. He also have a crazy collection of G-Shocks on his own. So one day, he gifted me the DW6900 knowing that I wanted one so bad. I was so happy and grateful that he would do that to his friend. I never thought anyone would do that for me. He even allowed me to customise the watch on my own using his product and that's how I got this fiery orange look even though orange is not my favourite colour.

Build Materials & Appearance

The watch is resin all around but that's what makes it super durable. CB1 model got a gold plated face on the dial that I think looks so cool. Big 'G' button in the front for the luminescent light which is super convenient! The watch however is very big and unfortunately for my 6 inch wrist makes me look like a baby wearing and adults watch 😂.

Pros & Cons Starting with Cons then Pros

The size, i can't deal with it. I couldn't even try it out before I got it cause this was a gift to me and I can't return a gift. It is so big that i end up just keeping it in the watch box now. Next, I am also not really fond of the 3 year battery life. It is kinda annoying to keep changing the battery every 3-4 years even though it doesn't cost much.

On the other hand, the watch is super durable. It can really take anything, get beaten so bad an yet it will still work flawlessly! The ability to customise everything on the watch including the face plate, the display is just insane! If you don't want to customise it, then there's still plenty of version to choose from right off the same model all factory. It is simply a watch that anybody can use except for people with small wrists.

Summary

All in all, if you are planning to buy this watch and you have the wrist size for it by all means go get it. Don't wait cause you won't regret it. If you're okay with changing the battery every 3-4 years then the watch is going to be with you until you decided to stop wearing it. God tier watch.
