I was getting ready to attend my dad's long service ceremony for the Police.
I put on the only watch I had at the time and realised it didn't really suit the occasion.
I started researching the best cheap watches and fell head first into the rabbit hole.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
A Citizen field watch I was gifted for Christmas was my first 'real' watch.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I have a vintage Longines from my grandfather, I believe he got it while serving in the Merchant Navy in 1944.
The watch is almost 80 years old and has undoubtedly gone through hell and back yet it still works perfectly every time I wind it up and wear it.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Spend your time researching.
Try to buy watches that celebrate certain events/achievements.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Longines, Christopher Ward, Oris and Tudor
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
A. Lange & Sohne 1815 in Rose gold, because it looks incredible and is a true masterpiece of watchmaking from a great brand.
I remember the first time I saw one in Harrods I was blown away.
