Ligne ('''): what does it mean?

An old French measurement represented as L or ''' used mostly for movement size and thickness. Equivalent to 0,088812168 inches or 2,2558291mm. I hope this will come in handy next time you're browsing vintage movements.

I wrote this whole thing as a note to self and also to make a crude joke where I say "ligne balls" at the end, then I found out "ligne" is pronounced the same as "line," so just imagine it was pronounced with a hard g and repeat my pun and see if you laugh.

Whenever I see French-looking words, I try to pronounce them as such. But I was wrong about this one; when I saw the word, I assumed that "lean yaze" was the correct pronunciation, LOL 🤣 But yeah, I get the joke with the hard "g." Bravo! 👍
