At the risk of repeating the obvious and common talking point: luxury goods are only worth what people are willing to pay for them, not what their true material value is. For its category of goods, $1000 for a Swiss made (even with all the caveats that come with that designation) watch with its level of finishing, this is a good "value". Are there $600 micro band watches that have close enough levels of finishing and Japanese or entry level Swiss movements? Of course, and those are excellent values as well.
Watches are in the modern day a unnecessary good. None of them are "worth" $500, $5,000 or even $50,000. Its all about what people are willing to pay and many thousands are willing to pay ~$1000+ for this watch.
Edit: I do have to say, while I Like most CW watches, I agree to some extent with the part about YouTubers pushing CW and British watches in general. A lot of watchtubers are British and given Britains enormous contribution to the history of watchmaking, I understand the enthusiasm but it feels like $300 watches from Asia get endless criticism while any also ran, barely coherent $1000 product by a British company gets gushing reviews. Still, as I said, theyre only worth what people will pay for them.
