Is Cartier Bringing Sexy Back?!

I was doing my usual morning coffee and online watch ogling routine on WatchCrunch and when I saw @zeroclickbezel's post (his very first on WC) about his Santos Dumont Black Lacquer, my eyes got a bit bigger and drew me in. As some of you know I'm a big fan of Cartier and seeing that model here on WatchCrunch was such a pleasure. It got me to thinking about my favorite Cartier watches besides the Black ADLC Santos I personally own, and one of my favorites is the Tortue.

That thought got me to doing my usual google search on "Tortue" and I saw something I didn't expect. It appears Cartier has quietly brought back the Tortue! Albeit a single extremely blinged out version. Here are links to their US website: https://www.cartier.com/en-us/watches/collections/tortue/tortue-watch-CRWJTO0009.html and their international site: https://int.cartier.com/en/collections/watches/choose-your-watch/by-material/gold-watches/pink-gold-watches/wjto0009-tortue-watch.html

I searched some more and there doesn't seem to be any press on this. So, is Cartier quietly bringing the Tortue back into their lineup? Can we expect other variants to come out? I'm excited to find out!

Thanks for the shout out!! A new Tortue sounds like a great option and would be a nice addition to the current shapes in the line up.

As I’ve been diving deeper into the Cartier back catalog, I feel like this particular Tortue screams “GRAIL!!” to me loud and clear!

Also this monopusher is super interesting to me:

And maybe this one with a big date complication that’s beautiful too (and a fraction of the cost of the above two!):
