My mother was ambidextrous (both left and right-handed) and when she taught me to use cutlery, she put the knife in my left hand and the fork in my right. When she put my first watch on my wrist, it was the right wrist - I've worn it on the right wrist since I was about 10 and it hasn't been a problem.

Nowadays I wear a fitness watch on my left wrist and although it has a time-keeping capability, I can't give up my watches. If I don't wear one, I feel naked.

I had an Omega Speedmaster "moon" watch in 1969 that required winding every day. I wore it for about 10 years and threw it in the rubbish bin when it rusted inside. I've regretted not having had it cleaned and kept it ever since.
