Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
I needed a watch more dressy than my G-Shock and down the rabbit hole I went.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
The first watch I remember buying was a G-Shock. I was in the military and wanted a tough, do it all watch. I wasn’t even “into watches” but I could see the value.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I have a G-Shock that’s deployed to Afghanistan and has a cost per wear of less than a Penny. I used to wear it all the time.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Find a watch you like, wait a couple weeks to make sure you still like it, and only then purchase it.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Helm, Doxa, Zelos, and Christopher Ward are all on my radar.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
I’m not sure I have a grail watch. There a several watches waaaaaaayyyyy outside my price range that I admire, but I have no ambition to own them.
