That's good to know. I wasn't ripping you. But after watching about 100 videos from the LPL I always cast a suspect eye on safes and locks.

I don't follow YouTube watch channels that traffic in negativity and drama. I watch for upbeat entertainment and/or information. When a YouTuber starts trashing another content creator that's when I unsub and move on.

I was tempted by the Hodinkee release when it came out. But I'm glad I held off because I much prefer the 38mm Murph and have one on the way.

I believe watches should be accessorized for how they are actually used. Not how they were made to be used.

If you don't plan to take your diver into the water there's no reason not to pair it with a leather strap if that's what you like.

It's not tropic or waffle, but as your 18mm options are limited, I would recommend the Barton Elite Silicone. I got one for my 36mm Seamaster 300m and it is very pliable and comfortable. Bonus points for quick release springbars and a pretty low price.

I have some of the waffle straps identified in this thread and agree they are terrible. Way to stiff--and they are not pre-curved to fit around the wrist. Terrible!
