Yes….She is working out a territorial issue with one of the other local barn cats and lost the last round of negotiations. Ended up with a nasty bite wound and abscess.

They will sort it out eventually. She is a survivor. 3 months ago she let herself in through the dog door, made friends with the dog and decided this was her house. My wife and I are both allergic but when a 6 month old cat decides it lives in your house, and the elderly dog agrees, there is very little you can do but go along with it. At this point she owes me about $1500USD in medical bills (Spay, Hernia Surgery and now abscess). Thankfully she shows promise as a hunter. Im hoping she pays me back in mouse, gopher and rattlesnake hides. 😂
Besides the dog tolerates her and that’s really all that matters.

Cats choose their people and it looks like she chose very well! I love that she is friends with the dog. I am sure she will show off her many trophies and thank you gifts over many years. 😁
