IWC Calibre 32110- will we see more? Portofino perhaps?

IWC only uses this movement in its spitfire line. Why?

I’d love to see a re-vamp of the Portofino line with this movement vs the current sellita movement. I love a lot about the Portofino line but putting this movement in that line would be a home run: could shrink it down to 39mm and have a longer power reserve making it more competitive with other luxury dress watches.

Does anyone know why IWC is not doing more with this movement? Should IWC update its Portofino line?

Good question - my guess would be it will find its way into updates across all ranges as new cases come along, the inclusion in the BP XPL indicates faith in the movement.

I think a new Aquatimer or Ingenieur is more likely to be the next update and Mr Porter has heavily there is more to come from IWC this Summer. I would imagine they will make use of the 32000 series.

I agree that the Ingenieur update should come soon. The old line is discontinued and can hardly be found anywhere. Even though I loved it and actually bought one, I also know that the latest model was a disappointment to some who prefer the integrated Genta-style design. I also heard an interview with the IWC CEO where he hinted that something would come soon.

I’d like to see the new Ingenieur line incorporate the new strap exchange system that they are using for the Big Pilot.

The new strap system is excellent - I would hope to see it on all new releases, although from memory it wasn’t on all of the W&W Pilots released.
