Seiko Marine Master Reinterpretation SJE101 Video Footage

It doesn't appear anyone has shown video footage of the new Marine Master from Seiko on WC, so I thought I would share this. I am merely subbed to this channel to see new models.

Full unboxing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qedOCXoHuS8&t=4s

Here's a short:

My current gripes: I like the design, but it looks nothing like a Marine Master. Even the modern reinterpretation of the 62MAS, the SPB143 / SBDC101 (JDM), still looks like a 62MAS. Only two micro adjusts for the clasp, which is weird for a diver, but you can exchange the clasp out for other OEM Seiko clasps with more micro adjusts (I've done this before).

I probably won't be purchasing. Your thoughts?

Bracelet looks a little sus, but hey, it’s Seiko what do you expect?

The watch it’s self, I actually like it. It looks like an amalgamation of every Seiko diver. There’s something about the proportions between the case, bezel and dial that is very charming.

I would be very interested to see one in person.

This is exactly my thoughts. Everyone asked for a smaller, higher end diver from Seiko. They delivered. One is listed for $2,800 in Arizona (preorder).

I agree these are nice looking watches, especially the limited edition, I love Seiko. I just have a problem with the price. Even within the Seiko lineup, you have the Prospex SPB143 that this is competing against, not to mention Tag Aquaracer and the Tudor Black Bay 58 (granted that is a higher price point, but still in the vicinity).

Used BB58s can be found around $2,800. Usually without a bracelet. I agree with your statements. I’ll check it out at my AD when available
