Unfortunately my wife isn't really interested in watches, she owns a couple (an Omega Constellation and a Michael Kors chrono) but more purely for the aesthetic rather that the build quality so when I shop for watches, I just go by myself. 

I know it's a stressful experience but if you persevere you will get lucky, it may take some time but you'll get what you want in the end.
