Definitely better quality for the money over the Retail price of most brands. But you could find better deals out there. It isn't so cheap your paying close to 2k.
This is a beautiful watch for a microbrand. My dilemma: I’m in the market to buy this Monta, Formex essence 39 or the new CW Sealnader GMT. I can’t decide at the moment.

I have the Monta and the finish is very good but for me It's strictly a dress watch. In my opinion it's one of those watches that just doesn't fit in anywhere else. The Formex and CW have a more flexible look but they lack the finesse of the Monta. If your out there for just a dress watch I would get the Monta. If you want versatility I would get the CW or Formex. [Just my opinion].
