Forget Patek Philippe X Tiffany. Bring Back IWC X Porsche Design
In Watchmaking we see a lot of Watchmakers who put a watch together with a other company.
Well known examples are Audimar piguet X Marvel with there Royal oak concept black panther or Patek Philippe with the Tiffany Blue Nautilus. Both watches became iconic. For one they are some of the best know and respected Brands on the World. Second because they hit the Nail because they came in that time out where this was wanted.
But i think the best watches Produced where one company was a watchmaker and the other does everything but not watches, was IWC with Porsche Design. IWC had the know how while Porsche Design made one of the best futuristic Designs. The best ecample would be the IWC Ocean 2000. There is no watch like it. There is also the Titan Chronograph. Which was the First watch in Full titanium (Case and Bracelet).
I would like to see a comeback of these designs. But since Porsche does there own watches i think that will not be the case.
What is your Opinion. Are there other secret gems of Watchmaking in the World?

There is lots IWC cand but they recently launched the Ingenieur too late and it’s missing something not sure what! I think they should have focused on that Porsche watch instead or the GST models, just need to be sexier!

The Ingenieure is an amazing watch. Inlove that it has now screws that serve a function. The thing missing for me is that it is not a two part case construction (just like the new nautilus and RO). I agree there are so much other choices now that the design is not unique anymore.
For me IWC has one of the biggest Potential. But they dont do anything with it until its too late. IWC should set trends and not just follow them.
