I kinda see his point, dive watches to me come across as a tool watch, that being said, it's all I own! If I had a job that required me to wear a suit then I'd be wearing anything  from a Bambino to a Calatrava depending on budget.

But that's just my opinion on what I'd like to wear.

This is the watch that JOMW hyped up and it was my first and only Chinese watch I have bought. It was fantastic, a really well made watch and I enjoyed my breif flirt with it (I sold it to fund a King Turtle). I really think that San Martin are about the best producer of homages. Even more so than Steinhart. The dial on that DJ looks amazing!

  • Watch YouTube reviews in silence. They're almost always bias towards the watch they're SELLING or they've been GIFTED to review.
  • Collect what you love, not what watch nerds tell you to. You like Invicta? Go have fun..
  • Absolutely no one in the real world gives a shit about what you have on your wrist, not even your wife. Impress yourself not others.
  • Be happy with what you have and always give yourself at least a month of looking at a watch before you buy it, no matter how cheap it is, you'll end up with a box of unworn shite otherwise.

Love seeing these! How has your time been with it? Is it as good as I'm hoping?

OMG THIS.

This frustrates me beyond belief. The new GMT seiko being compared to a GMT master ii in a review I've recently seen is ludicrous!

Watch reviewers tarnish the identity of BOTH watches when they compare a $400 watch to a $14,000 watch. It's a circle roughly 42mm in diameter with a average of 3 little sticks pointing at 12 markers.

There is only so many designs that can be created before one starts to look similar to another... Shit, go back around 60 years go and a Seamaster looked the same as a Smith's or a Seiko Laurel!

It's lazy reviewing imo, and a reason why I hit the mute button after the dimensions have been read out.

Watching reviews in silence is liberating when EVERYTHING is compared to RoLeX...

I love millitary watches but don't actually own any! I do have my eye on the CWC G10 PVD though. Your post has made me realise that although I don't own any "military" watches, the watches that do attract me are the ones that would look at home on a nato, the ones that I can imagine anyone in the forces wearing. Even my Aqua Terra lived life on a nato! I imagine the arnie for the special forces, the g shock for the ground troops, the skyhawk for the pilots and the seamaster for the C.O's.

So for me, it's the do all attitude that they inspire when they're on wrist. The thought of being careless in a nonchalant way with a "delicate by nature" item and knowing that it's still going to look good and function the same at the end of its adventure.

I've never really gave it much thought as to why I collect the style of watches I do but your post triggered a thought. So, erm, thanks!
