My first Orient a gen 1 Mako from 2010 and it’s young cousin the Kamasu, very similar case shapes and wearing experienc, but the Mako feels more substantial , and the crown at 2 O’clock makes it much more interesting.
I have a teal kamasu buy I'm after a mako with a black face. Orient remain an underrated maker. My friends who aren't into watches have never heard of them ( in the UK )!

Yes… here in the U.K. we are definitely missing out on all the best Seiko models, you only see their basic quartz stuff in shop windows, and you’ll never see an Orient. I first bought a blue Mako in 2010, I paid £70 for it. I was amazed at the quality when it arrived and I’ve had a love affair with their watches ever since.

The Gen 1 Mako is a legend with two crowns, the Kamasu has all the upgrades, sapphire , hacking and hand winding movement and killer red dial
It’s 50/50 to be honest both are awesome for the price I paid.

Blimey that was a bargain! I really like the Mako, the Defender and the newish triton lite which has no official name? They are all on my list!
I do have one seiko the recent dress kx which I do love but Orient are much more affordable..
