Help me pick my new watch

Long story short, I had planned to purchase both Nomos Orion and Black Bay 54 this year, but the economy is shit, layoffs be wildin, survived 3 or 4 rounds so far, who knows. so I decided to choose only one.

I currently have only Seiko spb243 (and an old Apple Watch). I’m a SWE and used to dress business casual for work but now work remote and am in tshirts and sweats most of time. If I end up chopped I might have to go back to office.

Nomos Orion

Pros

- dress compliments casual

- White dial compliments black dial

- Nomos founded only weeks from my bday, “First love”

- Pretty movement

Cons

- Didn’t quite look right at the AD. Silver looked like spray painted glitter. Might be AD lighting.

- Less versatile

- Less recognizable

- Poor water resistance

BB54

Pros

- diver (basically the only diver that is viable for me)

- It’s a toodah (Recognizable)

- Versatile GADA

Cons

- Black dial redundancy (might completely overshadow current seiko)

- No display back

- Worried it be bulky for my 6” - 6.25”wrist

I’ll likely end up purchasing the one that I don’t buy eventually but I have no idea when that will be yet.

Do not like Nomos due to their lug to lug length.

Negative space is hard to understand sometimes. The dial proportion to wrist is about the same as my seiko but the bezel is nonexistent. I just think of it as an invisible bezel.

If you have cons already about the nomos it will only get worse once you buy. I’m a bit biased tho as I’ve just bought a pelagos.

Love the nomos club campus though

It a different Nomos, diff dial, more WR and then pick up the Tudor. I’d actually say get both pre owned if you could.

I don’t know what a SWE is, but if you work at a computer sometimes metal bracelets are tough.

SoftWare Engineer. My job literally does not exist without computers 🙂

Diver for small wrist: Have you considered something like a Longines Legends Diver 36mm? My vote here is for the Nomos though . . . but if you wanted the water resistance they also have some nice clubs, the ahoi in a smaller diameter that should work on your wrist.

The extent of water resistance I need is washing dishes 😂

None of longines lineup connects with me for some reason.

Fair, oddly I don’t know why I’m saying this because of your work, but get a Nomos of some sort with their own escapement/swing system.
