This was only the second black dial version of the K2 at the time.

Yep, and the contrast with the pitch black dial. Even the gold case looks like a halo to complete an astronomical composition.
I thought about asking Stephan to drop the minute hand and keep just an elongated hour hand in the shape of an arrow: engraved arrowhead at one end in the same hammered style as the sun/moon complication, and a feathered tip on the other. “The Arrow of Time.”
