How to get acquainted with a new watch

Spent some time at my AD this week, checking out the new Tudor P39 and the RX Ex1 vs some alternatives. Found myself comparing the new P39 vs Omega SM D300... both beautiful but made completely different impression on me. It took me 2 days to get my thoughts straight and find words to describe them. Here's the result:

Getting hands-on with a new watch or several new watches at the same time is like meeting other people, like at a party or a business meeting. You have an immediate feeling about who you would like to get in touch with. You start a conversation and quickly get an impression about who they are... the easy going one's, sporty, like-to-have-fun... the serious one's... the modest type that somehow let's you know there is so much more to discover and be impressed about... and so on ...

That is how I get to know watches and start a relationship and sometimes stay friends for a very long time.

Very fun feeling at first most of my watches I can remember day one since I got them and happy with the choices I made. And those few I made bad choices I get rid of them and take it as lesson learn and move on.

I’m the complete opposite. Everytime I get home and the heart rate returns to normal - I just stare at the watch box and think why did I do that!?
buyers remorse usually lasts a couple of weeks for me and then I start enjoying the watch. Weird I know.

Thx for sharing … at least the joy lasts longer than the remorse;-)
