My parents are moving into an assisted living facility and my dad found these with notes from his mom that they were her father’s.
The larger Cleeland & Ralston has an Aurora Watch Co movement, circa 1885. Cleeland was a jeweler in Butler, PA, the county seat near where they lived.
FWIW-Aurora Watch Co was purchased by Keystone Standard Watch Co in 1892, shortly before they changed their name to Hamilton Watch Co. (Oh, my grandmother’s maiden name was Hamilton.)
The smaller is an Elgin, circa 1915.
Workmanship in these movements is amazing and they were probably considered run-of-the-mill for their day.
