With a $2k budget I'd definitely check out Longines and Oris on the higher side or maybe Hamilton where you'll get amazing value and history in your piece for a bit under your budget or right on the money with something like the Intra Matic Chrono.

I knew it felt like one was missing. Not a Citizen wearer myself but definitely appreciate their wide range of watches and have always enjoyed their style.
