Another nice, brisk morning, out on the front yard swing. Love this time of year, even though it will probably warm up again next week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Crunchies!

Thank you. Funny story about that, a high school girlfriend gifted me this watch, but I never wore it. It lived in a box in my parents' attic for about 28 years until they brought the box to me earlier this year. The bracelet is SS, and in good condition (for a cheap, folded link bracelet), but the case had some tarnish/oxidation (brass, I assume). I took a Dremel and some mag wheel polish to it, and it promptly removed most of the gold plating from the bezel. 🤣 The lugs are a little pitted, so I just let them be.

😮 I'm not sure I'd ever be brave enough to take a Dremel to a watch, but you brought it back life. You now have a vintage watch with your own memories. 👍

It was just a polishing wheel. Worst I could do was remove all the gold plating and make the whole thing shiny silver. There wasn't much sentimental value in it, but it does have more to the story. I was surprised to find a M-T with a Seiko movement, especially with a Kanji day wheel (My HS girlfriend must've been cooler than I thought! 🤣). I emailed M-T about it to try and find out any info I could. They responded that they couldn't tell me much except that they did sell watches with Japanese movements to the US market back in the '70s. I was gifted this watch (new in box) in the early-mid '90s, so I was confused. Either someone was mistaken at M-T, or the girl re-gifted me her Father's watch. 😁

Thank God for that, I had visions of Mr Bean at play

That's a thought..

I wonder how many boyfriends she had in high school and whether her dad is still wondering where all his watches went 🤔

That's hilarious! Maybe I should've stuck around for a few more birthdays and Christmases to see if I could score something nicer! 🤣
