JDM / K, it really doesnt matter.

Seiko has been jazzing up some strikingly beautiful dials on "budget" divers, i got bitten and this arrived yesterday.

All these years for buying watches from seiko, i tend to get jdm versions not because of made in japan but hoping that qc process may be just that much more stringent, even if that means paying premium.

Well, i thought my green king turtle was bad with chapter ring off to the left slightly. This bugger has chapter ring set ever further to the left and bezel insert went off to the right....  Candy bar slanted to the left and.... Its running +30sec a day....

I think seiko hates me.

Paying over 600 quid (with vat) for an insanely interesting dial, along with all the shortcomings.

Yep, even the JDM Seiko QC has gone south. That's why, sadly, after owning dozens of Seiko models, they are dead to me. Hattori-san needs to get his head out of the clouds and get back to the basics, ensuring quality control is done well across all price points, otherwise Seiko will die eventually. One can only run on past reputation for so long and with their move up-scale on prices, people are not going to keep buying watches with basic, glaring flaws.

They arent that much alive to me too tbh, yet these dials... Seriously i am a sucker of these save the ocean dials, in particular these recent ones with aquatic animal on.

Some might not like it as they do throw it off balanced, but i enjoy seeing these kinda "off-balance" if you know what i mean, like perfect to be imperfect intentionally in a discreet manner, makes everything interesting... Didnt expect the imperfections apply on other aspects of the watch as well though🤦🏻‍♂️

Seiko really needs to get some action done, theres ALSO a printing misalignment on the date wheel, only happens on monday and tuesday...

As if monday morning syndrome isnt bad enough... Oh rest of the days are fine, i should be glad.
