anOrdain order - go/no go

So for those that aren't aware, anOrdain became very popular and needed to find a way for people to wait in line and order watches as they only made about 50 a month. A nice issue to have, I think most would agree.

They settled on a system where you'd apply to join the waiting list and at the moment your spot was free you could place an order for a watch and pay the deposit. From my personal point, this was one of the best systems they could have chosen, seeing as they can't produce enough dials to satisfy demand.

I recently got my email informing me that I could put a deposit down and place my order for a watch. I love the dials on the watches, they truly are a work of art. When I started looking at the watches they were priced very competitively, some might say on the cheaper side. But as I took out my credit card for the deposit I looked around the anOrdain website and wondered if the prices hadn't edged a little too high.

Buy it, it was underpriced to start, which helped cause the current situation. The deposit is relatively nominal compared to other models that make you front the whole cost. I have $3k currently locked up for a watch I ordered in February.

Do you want one marshmallow now or two later? All comes down to what you value and patience. There are a TON of great watches in that range, but none have the AnOrdain dial. If you want the dial, take your place in line. If you end up changing your mind, you can likely sell at a premium. If you must have something now, there is a ton to choose from immediately. Your call to make, but I‘d make the deposit immediately. I say that as someone who was an early AnOrdain buyer and have a lot of others in the price range. It’s a special watch.
