Dream watch fail

This game that we play is quite interesting. I have anticipated for so long now seeing my “dream watch” in person. I could tell you all what it is but it kinda defeats the purpose. I am still ruminating over this experience. I was highly unimpressed when holding the watch in hand to say the least. All the YouTube late night videos when I should have been in bed. Was it all in vain? Do I even like watches anymore? This is why for me I must see a watch in person before purchasing. I don’t want my AD ordering a watch for me I never held. “I can get any watch you need in store” he says. Maybe that sounds stupid to you 🤷🏾‍♂️. I rather get lucky when I walk into a store and find the watch waiting for me after visiting store after store. Like I did today. Even if I decide it’s not worth seeing each other again after our first date. I can tell you all the one watch today that I did fall in love with after holding in hand. The Rolex Skydweller. Too bad my pockets weren’t deep enough to get her attention.

Same happens to me with cars as well. That’s why you gotta see things in person. You never know what will come along!

Pictures rarely do a watch justice. Not to get too poetic, but watches have a distinct “atmosphere” or feel that you’ll only experience in person.

I will say that some of my long-term favorite designs were watches that didn’t initially grab me but slowly and inexorably got their hooks in.

I’m actually a car guy. I did the bravest thing this week. Sold my car and decided to see what life carless is like for a year. It helps I just opened up an office in the same building as a my condo.
