Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

I had a conversation with a friend about watches and then he sent me some YouTube videos (Teddy Baldassarre, Jenni Elle, Nico Leonard). I watched them and was hooked.

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

The first watch I remember owning was a Casio quartz digital watch when I was a kid.

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

My most interesting watch story is that I went from not being in the hobby at all, to falling head over heels for the Grand Seiko SBGA413 Spring and making it my grail watch, to owning it, all within the span of about a month.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Be patient, take your time. You don’t have to rush out and buy all the watches right away. It’s okay to appreciate them from afar and enjoy the one(s) you already have. After all, you can only wear one watch at a time, anyway.

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

This is always changing, of course, but at this moment I’m intrigued by Kurono Tokyo, Sartory Billard, and anOrdain.

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

My current grail watch is the Rolex GMT-Master II “Batgirl” in my profile pic. I love the bezel colors and its combination of sporty and classy looks—and if I’m being honest, the fact that it’s hard to get makes me want it more.
