Review Weiss 42mm Standard Issue Diver in Tennessee Tangerine

This is a quick review of the Weiss 42mm diver in Tennessee Tangerine now that I’ve been wearing for a few weeks. I haven’t seen a single one on the used market and I haven’t seen a review on one either. Hopefully this will help anyone on the fence. Ask if you have any questions I know it’s hard to spend $$$ when you can’t find much reviews or videos on it.

This watch is hand assembled with a mix of in-house and imported parts to my understanding.

To give some perspective of the type of watches I wear these are my top four at the moment.

1. Omega Aquaterra 41mm

2. Weiss Diver 42mm

3. Marathon GSAR 41mm

4. Tudor bb58 39mm

Quick Specs:

42mm

50mm lug2lug

13.3 thick

300mm water resistant

$2650

Movement: Caliber 2120 mechanical movement, M100 base, finished and assembled by hand

Since I purchased this watch I primarily use the AquaTerra for the office and the Weiss diver for almost everything else.

Fit: I love how it sits flat on the wrist and this tropic strap feels amazing. I have a 7.5 inch wrist and the only other tropic I’ve used was an Uncle Seiko strap. The Weiss one is probably 4 times better but the price does reflect that. The mixture of the sapphire case back and tropic strap keep the watch from moving around and stay in place.

Style: I love how this watch looks like a blend of air,sea and land. It has the hands you usually find in a pilot watch, the numerals of a field watch and the bezel, size and water resistance of a diver.

I am pretty tired of seeing the typical diver (ex bb58, Submariner and all the similar homages) and wanted something different and unique. They only made 20 of this color combo.

Accuracy: seems to be running about -5 seconds day.

Bezel Action: I love the feel, solid clicks and feels way more solid then my Marathon. Clicking action is closer to the refined feel of the bb58 but does feel a little sharp on the fingers

Crown Action: feels like butter! It’s buttery smooth and feels very refined. Kind of a hard thing to describe. I love how much the crown pops out after unscrewing.

Final Notes: I think this is a great diver for anyone who wants something different then the usual suspects. Comes in different colors and they just released on with an agave dial limited to 20. Also you can have it engraved directly from Weiss. The movement seems to be one that is easily serviceable the accuracy is great and it makes me want to go on an adventure or vacation every time I wear it.

Thank you for the review. I was surprised I could not find one before you posted. Any plans to get the bracelet? It’s my understanding that it is made in the US as well.

I was surprised they don’t list the bracelet individually. When I purchased this limited edition there was no option for a bracelet like when you select the non limited ones. I would have loved to purchase on bracelet and just pay extra for the tropic. I actually like this one so much I might purchase another one in the future in a different color and grab the bracelet and just swab bracelet and tropic whenever I want

I would appreciate at basic video showing the bezel action and rolling wrist shot. Not expecting a professional video. Thanks.
