As sung by Lene Lovich way back in 1981:
"I get a new toy (oh ay oh), to keep my head expanding (ta).
I get a new toy (oh ay oh), nothing too demanding (ta). "
I could have bought a decent watch but instead I bought a Weishi 1000 timegrapher so I could play around with some of my existing mechanicals.
I had already had a fiddle with the 819121 Komandirskie's 2414A regulation with good results and I refined my efforts further using the Weishi:
Not too bad for a janky ruskie watch, but I admit it took the patience of a saint to get these numbers.
I had already tinkered with the regulation of my Indian refurb Citizen running a 8200A movement, I call it the "Lucknow Special", and refined the efforts here as well:
Maybe a bit more patience is required but there is some potential there.
Then there is my unopened Seiko SNK809 with its very common 7S26C movement:
Umm, yeah...
Once I get a proper tool to open up the SNK then I may get to see some better numbers.
No regrets buying the Weishi.
I have a couple of old Vostoks coming from Ukraine, I figure they need foreign currency over there more than they need janky russian watches sitting around, so the Weishi will help giving my new/old clunkers a tune-up.
Ah 1981, you had to be there:

I'm hoping to get my money's worth out of the Weishi since it cost me a "scubadude" (my new unit of watch nerd currency) and I've got some good mileage out of the unit so far.
Heck, I may even open up the Weishi and have a peek inside. A hack to adjust the screen brightness would be nice.
And for those who declined to view the video don't feel too bad, you only missed about 21 uses of the phrase "new toy". Yeah, I got bored and counted them.
Its not bad what you did I think that was cool creative and unique I heard them Weishi are good I know a lot of new members here not familiar about a timegrapher they just say oh its a time watch adjuster that will read the watch vital signs thats all.

For those folks who are curious about the basics of a timegrapher and want explanations from somebody with actual watchmaking skills and down-to-earth presentation I can recommend this video and indeed that whole channel:
