NWA ๐Ÿšจ My First "finished" watch!

I'm super duper excited to share my first DIY watch with you all!

It has a custom dial made for modding Seiko 5s, with an NH-36A movement that has black days and dates, with days in both English and Japanese. The case is 316 steel and has a sapphire crystal on both sides, giving it a sleek and elegant look. I chose a NATO strap for now, but I have some steel bracelets that I can swap anytime.

The only thing I need to fix is the seconds hand, which I accidentally damaged when I first assembled the watch. But I'm not going to let that stop me from enjoying my creation. This is one of the four watches I started to make, and I can't wait to show you the rest! What do you think of DIY watches?

Do you have any tips or suggestions for me? Let me know and if you have a customized watch let's see what it looks like!

I think this is a great start, and it looks better than my first attempt, for sure! ๐Ÿ˜‚ (Okay, my first attempt had a second hand, but I damaged the hour hand in the process.)

I love the dial, and the monochrome look works nicely. I have the same case with the Yacht-Master style ceramic dial. I liked it initially, but for some reason don't enjoy it anymore. (But that's my personal hang-up.)

Otherwise DIY watches are fun, the way I see it. They are also a great way to stay engaged with the hobby without having to purchase/trade watches on an ongoing basis. (There should be plenty of my own builds in my profile.)

Have fun and good luck!

Yea, the first watch I tried was actually an automatic chronograph... The dial. Doesn't fit though, even though it's made for the watch.... But haven't had the time to get it done. I did a mod before this one, but just the hands. I did order a new dial for that watch with a custom logo. Hopefully it shows up soon.

Great first build!

Seconds hand suck! It took me a couple of hours the first time I put one on. I didn't break any part of the handset but I did break a crown stem on my first attempt. So your doing better than me.

And I like the NATO.

That's is Super. I wonder how you did it? It looks complicated to me. ๐Ÿค”
