Not sure about the OPs wrist size but I found the F1 quartz 43mm to wear large for some reason. Whereas my 44mm F1 auto wears perfectly on my 6.75 wrist. The biggest difference between the two was that the quartz caseback is almost flat versus the shallow dome of the cal. 16.
It doesn't make sense, but sometimes the watch you desire doesn't quite meet your expectations.
I used to have the Gulf version of the OPs intended watch, and it was built like a tank and very reliable. Didn't cost me a lot because I bought it used but I would insist that the correct b&ps be supplied if going down this route. I've currently got an F1 cal.16 caz2011, Carrera cal.16 cbm2110 and an F1 cah1111 so yes, I do like TH as a brand amongst others. I bought these used so I never felt like I paid too much.
