Deep scratch in acrylic crystal... ๐Ÿ˜ข

Today I looked down at my wrist and saw deep scratches on the acrylic crystal of my Baltic Bicompax 002. They hadn't been there earlier today, and I don't remember knocking it against anything.

I tried to buff it out with Polywatch this evening, but no luck. I'm wondering if it I cracked rather than scratched.

Any suggestions? Can it be replaced with a sapphire crystal?

That looks like it cracked right through to the backside. Probably need to bring to a watchmaker to replace the crystal.

Interesting, that had to have been an oddly placed or stuck zipper on a jacket pocket or something for a deep gouge.

Unless Baltic had a bad batch of acrylic, if you struck it hard enough to crack, you would remember it. Trust me.

Far as sapphire goes, might not be generally recommended due to some designing their cases specifically around acrylic crystals. Or as @ayadai said, no top hat.

Technically should work tho.

There are other, more aggressive ways to buffout (IFYKYK ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‰ FNV was the best), but Baltic prolly wouldn't want you trying them if under warranty. Talk to a watchmaker?

Also will add, head on it is far less noticeable, when reading the dial, to me.

Definitely looks like cracks. Thankfully parts can be had for very reasonable prices although youโ€™ll likely have to stick with acrylic which thereโ€™s nothing wrong with that.
