Longines and nice shoes

Girlfriend: "Why do you always wear those ratty old shoes to work? You are a successful guy.

Me: "Because they are comfortable and I work in a casual environment."

Girlfriend: "But you have really nice dress shoes that you never wear."

Me: "Maybe tomorrow."

Well, tomorrow is today. I have my brown Ecco dress shoes on, nice pants, nice shirt, and my Longines dress watch. Funny thing is none of the important people are in the office today.

A few years ago, a friend who is a successful real estate developer convinced me to accompany him to the sale of a valuable property, we were out of our league, ended up at a discount shoe clearance store where we each picked up a pair of black Ecco dress boots, which were my size but 1/2 size too large for him. A few years later I sourced a pile of new Seiko Kinetic watches from a tenant who was shuttering his wholesale store. I gave one to my friend who had his secretary deliver his pair of gently worn Ecco boots to me, I left them in front of my garage facing a public lane, lots of homeless men during covid. There were no takers. That is beautiful Longines.

Loving the watch, really well thought out dial with the metrics to the fore.

Some women consider comfortable shoes a sin. As most women's shoes are hideously uncomfortable or poorly made. The idea that shoes CAN be comfortable simply does not register with some.

That's a great story--such a twist at the end.

Lool, I don’t wear Ecco shoes anymore and my rich friend refuses to upgrade from Seiko watches. He thinks watch guys are bananas! And yet he favours good scotch.

Cheers,

J

Damn I love the look of your Longines and your shoes, pulsometers on watches are always rare so its always cool to see how they're integrated on the dial design
