Seeing is believing, it took a while for me to get over the sticker shock but what they say is true; it’s quality you can actually see. The dial and finishing is out of this world.
Try one on, then try and source one preowned (like me). Warning, they’re addictive.
It’s an uncle seiko waffle strap in blue, one of the most comfortable straps I have and I tend to put them on everything.

The best thing about GS is the community - I’ve had much more interesting conversations with strangers about GS than I ever had about Rolex or any other watch brand. When I see someone with a GS, I feel compelled to acknowledge and strike up a conversation. I don’t get that with a Datejust or Submariner.
So what does a GS on a stranger say to you? To me, it says “there’s another psycho in the room; I’m not alone.”
It looks fine on you, can always swap to a strap/nato which would fall more flush against the wrist versus a bracelet. I find mine wears a bit smaller on straps.
I enjoy my gold classic fusion 42MM. It‘s a fun, unique piece to wear and the finishing on the thin case and sunburst grey dial are really impressive. I know it’s not for everyone but if you get a chance to try one on, put aside what you think you know or heard about the brand and give it a shot.
