Everyday greatness

Raymond Weil…

Another brand which has great history and manufactures some great pieces, as well as some rather un-inspiring ones.

This Tango I have is in the latter camp, it’s plain and understated, doesn’t have a ‘fancy automatic‘ movement and it’s hardly worth anything, you’d never notice it.

Yet, I love it.
It is fantastically comfortable to wear, bracelet is solid with solid end links, the dimensions and shape of the case allow it to just sit perfectly, the fact it’s only 7mm thick helps!

It can be dressed up, dressed down, not dressed at all should you desire. It never seems to look out of place. The aesthetic may be bland but through the years it is holding up fantastically, it gets cleaned with washing up liquid regularly but doesn’t get polished and still looks great.

As for accuracy, it has an ETA F06.411 quartz movement which seems to be super accurate. I compare it to my Casio pro-trek which adjusts itself daily and it always seems to be within +/- 2s a month!

Then we get to the price, you can get something like this on eBay for a little over £100.

Throw a little exclusivity into the mix and your on to a winner. Could you need anything else for an everyday wearer…

What alternatives would you have?
