I started actively learning about and collecting watches about 2019, beginning with quartz pieces picked up at resale shops. Then bought my first budget auto dive watch new. I now have about 20 pieces including several family heirlooms, Seiko, Hamilton, Orient, as well as a Damasko and a Longines. A few of my best ones I found in pawnshops.
I wore an Ironman Classic in my 30's and 40's. Not sure I wore a watch when I was younger. If I had one, I don't know what it was. 🙂
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I have my father's Gruen from the 40's or 50's which I remember him only wearing occasionally to church or a wedding. It's never been serviced but still runs.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
I've been slowly moving upscale the last year or so, moving from a complete budget collection to now include a Damasko and a Longines.
