Buying watches in Japan & Taiwan

Hi to all my first post here and looking forward receiving some info. In my work I travel a lot and always inspect local AD's and used watch shops.

In summer I have scheduled a trip to Japan and Taiwan and wondering if anybody has some experience buying watches there, maybe even from local people living there. As far as I noticed the prices are lower than in EU ( on major sites like Chrono24 ... ), watches are well preserved with complete sets but they tend to polish them to look in mint condition. Also negotiations there are preety much non existing.

Any feedback on buying experience there would be most appreciated, preferably even where to find good used watch dealers in Tokyo, Yokohama or/and Taipei. Thanks

I’m in Tokyo right now and went into the Grand Seiko flagship in Ginza and walked out with this. Was surprised to find there as there are too many hurdles to getting on in the States. The best part about buying watches here is you get the 10% tax rebate while buying in the States you add in sales tax to the retail price. The exchange rate is pretty good too. If looking for pre-owned, I went to Ishida Best in Shinjuku today that had a really good selection. There are a ton of grey watch stores in the area. I suggest looking at dealers who sell on Chrono 24 and checking out their brick and mortars while in town. You can reach out ahead of time through the app and workout a better deal in person.
