I immediately though of the Casio MQ-24 range. There are quite a few dial/color combos to choose from and can be had from around $15-$17 from what I've found. Should be splash resistant, made from resin and has a 38.8mm case:

I'm absolutely floored by the Pelagos, so I'd say pick it up as well!

But, an idea that could help you to decide would be to wear the Omega when you go into the shop to check out the Pelagos in person. I think that would help you make up your mind.
