Handmade sometimes means imperfections

Being the OCD freak that I am, I tend to time my watches and seeing how well they keep time over the days I wear them. The other week I realized my Itay Noy was running increasingly slow losing +20 seconds a day. At first I thought it could have been magnetized so I found a respectable watchmaker in my area to take a look. After examining it and complimenting at how nice a watch it is, he pointed out that the handmade rotor had one small section that was ever so thicker than the rest causing it to spin unevenly and created a little sliver on the oscillating bridge.

Luckily, Itay is very responsive on Whatsapp and after having the watchmaker deliver his diagnosis to Itay via voice recording on Whatsapp, Itay immediately said he will take care of it. Today I finished shipping it back to Israel.

Itay was incredibly apologetic. This is a watch that has only been on my wrist for less than 5 months and needed to have the movement completely revamped. But all I said to him was, "Itay, small stuff sometimes happens when something is handmade." Which is true. I found myself without an iota of anger. Handmade goods sometimes have imperfections.

Agreed, that's why the consistency of mass produced goods is more appealing to the majority of us.
