Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

Always loved watches and one day noticed Kevin O'Leary wearing a red strap watch on Shark Tank. When I googled it to see what it was, suddenly You Tube started suggesting watch related videos to me and I slid down the rabbit hole from there.

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

My first real watch was a Timex military style watch that got when I went into the Army at 17. I replaced the strap with an olive green canvas bund strap that had a built in canvas flap to cover the watch case when working or on patrol.

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

I own a Citizen watch that was the first watch I bought after getting married. It's probably a 34mm case with a date hand function and I've had it 35 years.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

1. Don't think that owning luxury watches is the goal. I have watches in all price ranges and I love them all for what they are. 2. Don't buy a watch just to buy watches. Take time to learn what you like, what looks good on your wrist, thickness, lug to lug, strap or bracelet etc... 3. Don't think a watch is going to grow on you. If you buy it online and don't love it the day you take it out of the box send it back without a second thought. It wasn't for you.

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Breitling is probably my favorite brand. At the moment I really like Christopher ward and some of the Jack Mason stuff. I have been looking a lot at Dufrane watches out of Texas too.

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

Breitling Superocean Heritage 44 with the green dial and black bezel. I love this watch because it is the classiest looking diver's watch made in my opinion.
