good post, and cool collection. I’ve always admired UG from afar (social media mostly) and haven’t seen any in person yet. Vintage feels so risky, given all the franken watches out there. I’ve become a fan of Ming - watches- almost every release has been an emotional tug for me. its not everyones cup of tea- but the brand certainly has a passionate following.

Honestly, take a look at the Theo and Harris selection of JR straps. They’re not cheap, but high quality and they have very cool designed straps. You can find some YouTube videos of them talking about the straps too. Good luck!👍 

Quite honestly I’m not sure what the point of this post is. If nothing else, it’s a rant because a large number of people can’t just go into a Rolex AD and walk away with a watch. At this point, this isn’t new, and not likely to go away any time soon. If you still want the watch, you’re going to still buy the watch at a premium. If you won‘t buy it, you won’t. What’s the benefit to posting things like this, other than… misery needs company ? 

IMO, this era will likely be remembered for watch brands releasing reinterpretations of iconic vintage watches to reignite enthusiasm in the industry, and the Tudor bb (all variants) will inescapably be front and center. As a fellow Tudor bb owner, I worry that over time collectors may look at this era as the time watch brands took few risks and generally lacked much innovation- both in design and in function. History may very well appreciate the pelagos line over the black bay line for its attempt to push the brand forward (for example). That being said, as a collector your opinions are shaped by your experiences, and having many adventures with your black bay will ensure you don’t care about public perception one way or the other :) 

What are some of the negatives people say about the brand? I know they have decent history and heritage (w/ blancpain)
