The watch that solidified my infatuation.

I always liked watches. My entry point was in fashion watches(I know I'm not alone), Guess watches to be exact. They were cheap and pretty loud comparative to what I like now, but if I'm being honest, I just wore one to completed my outfit. As I grew older, and started making more money, I began to care more about quality/affordability. I randomly came across a video by Teddy Baldassarre, and it was over. The video was listing the top entry-level watches to start your collection and I noticed many of them were Seikos. I always heard of Seiko, but never paid much attention. After learning of the culture and history of Seiko, and watches and watchmakers in general I decided to go with Seiko as my first TRUE watch purchase. I bought this Seiko SRPD73K2 and I was forever changed. It being a clone of a cult classic was irrelevant to me. I loved/love this watch. It's near perfection IMO. This coffee dial with the faux patina indices really gives me a touch of class and modernity.

I love this app. I've never felt so connected with a community full of strangers as I do here. I will continue to give back as much as I can, being such a newbie. Peace to all my big-timers!

The Gospel of Seiko according to Professor Teddy B got you hooked. Seikos have great value throughout the range but if you want to go deeper in the cult, look at some Presages and Prospex.

This can be had for about $400

That's on my list! Kinda leaning toward the Mojito.

My wife got me my first Seiko Presage as a wedding gift and I wore it down the aisle.

Just happen to be wearing that same this morning.

Great watch. The 'dive style' watches in the Seiko 5 range are really great places to start.

It's an expensive Presage arita porcelain dial edition, or you may call it "poor mans Eichi II"

As @Lord_Dappingtonshire pointed out, it is Arita from Presage line. SPB293J1 and/or SPB319J1 respectively. And unsurprisingly enough, I am flipping around on idea to eventually (far far time away) add Style60s to my collection. Possibly

The rosegold Presage looks classy. Should have been perfect for the wedding.

Did you get your wife the matching Presage SRP852?

Well, Doxa and PRX most definitely. But other than that, dunno man, I kinda feel like buying a Railmaster and pack of Marlboro Reds afterwards

The SRDP73 is a great watch, it was my first diver and it is my daily beater, also my first mod (ceramic bezel, double dome crystal & chapter ring) absolutely love it, every time I check the time it takes me like 3 seconds checking the time and like 30 just looking at the watch it self😍

Love that. I also started with fashion watches and have been wearing an Apple Watch for years but man it’s a rabbit hole. Just got my first “real” watch too with the SARX093.
