Speedy inspiration

A couple years ago I spotted this speed master reduced owned by a friend of the family and instinctively I leaned over and complimented his time piece as it was also my grail watch and still is, but we started talking watches as us watch people do and in the midst of conversation he allowed me to wear his speed master.. and it was love at first wear. I snapped a picture of it and told myself I will one day own a speedy of my own. Well years later and finally can say I am I proud owner of a moon watch of my very own.

What are some grail watches of yours that you are considering or perhaps already got the opportunity to own? I’d love to hear about them and if they were as amazing as you’d imagined!

Congrats.

I'm forever split between the SMP 300 and Planet Ocean, personally. I'm not sure if I'll ever get one, though.

Yes, had it nearly 3 years and love it more everyday 😉👍🏻

Congrats on the watch! Looking good! The Speedy automatic you show here isn't technically a Speedmaster Reduced. Omega discontinued the Reduced in 2009. These newer ones are just known as the Speedmaster 38. Not that it matters much, but I like to make sure good information is spread online for others to see. There were 2 generations of the Reduced. The first had a hesalite crystal and numerals at the indexes. The 2nd gen removed the numerals at the indexes, changed the hesalite crystal to sapphire, and upgraded the bracelet.

From Bob's Watches:

"Although the Omega Speedmaster Reduced was discontinued in 2009, smaller Speedmaster watches still exits within the Omega catalog today in the form of the Omega Speedmaster Racing and Speedmaster 38 collections. The standard Omega Speedmaster Racing has a 44.25mm case diameter; however, a 40mm version also exists (both with self-winding movements). Additionally, the Speedmaster 38 is another smaller Speedmaster, with a 38mm case diameter, and offering a number of different colors and configurations aimed at women."
