Are all watch connoisseurs doomed to become amateur macro photographers?

It seems an inevitable transition from watch buff to wanna-be photographer. I’ve seen many friends go down this road. Here are a handful of my artful attempts

It all starts with a flimsy $10 plastic merchandise photo booth from Amazon. Next thing you know, you’re up to your eyeballs in indirect light lamps, clamps and strange lens attachments.

Though still firmly planted in the neophyte photographer stage, I find it does elevate my lifelong joy of timepiece hunting/collecting/ogling. My favorite cheap (or free…can’t remember) photo editing app on my phone is “Snapseed.” Highly recommend. I’m sure you professionals would recommend many others. But it serves this beginner just fine.

I would love to see your artistic photographic handywork.

Cheers! ✨⏱✨

Depends, are you in anyway OCD? If so, don’t break out a macro lens because you will never unsee the flaws.

You make a strong point, @AllTheWatches! I suppose I’ve learned to embrace the little imperfections. C’est la vie, right? Cheers ✨⏱✨

You are so right! The macro/micro imperfections can become all you see from then on 🧐
